Which Camper Type Should You Rent?
Seven camper types, seven different price points and seven different experiences. A teardrop trailer for two on a weekend hike is a different trip than a Class A motorhome for a family of eight. The right choice depends on how many people you're traveling with, where you're going and how much you want to spend.

How to Pick the Right Type
- → 1-2 people, active trip: Class B campervan or teardrop trailer. Campervan if you don't want to tow. Teardrop if you have a car and want the cheapest option.
- → Family of 4-6, first time: Class C motorhome. Most space per dollar, full bathroom, no towing experience needed. The default rental choice for families.
- → Family with a truck, extended stay: Travel trailer. Unhitch at camp and use your truck for day trips. Best value for week-long stays.
- → Budget family, summer camping: Pop-up camper. Real mattresses, a kitchen area and most SUVs can tow one. From $50/night.
- → Large group, luxury: Class A motorhome. Only if you have driving experience or plan to stay at one campground. Not for first-timers on a multi-stop road trip.
- → Backcountry access, off-grid: Truck camper. The only RV type that handles 4WD trails and remote dispersed camping. Need a compatible pickup truck.
